What Is Skilled Nursing?

Skilled nursing is a specialized form of medical care provided by trained professionals. Services can include a wide range of comprehensive care, including wound care, medication management, intravenous therapy, and various other therapies. Skilled nursing involves the administration of complex medical treatments and monitoring of patients with acute or chronic health conditions, such as those recovering from surgery, managing a chronic illness, or requiring rehabilitative services.

Wellness and Rehabilitation

At Green Hoouse skilled nursing extends to in-house rehabilitation featuring therapy equipment tailored for physical, occupational, speech and respiratory needs. In addition, we provide on-staff registered dietitians who specialize in nutritional therapy, ensuring comprehensive care for our residents.

Who Qualifies for Skilled Nursing?

This specialized form of care is often recommended for people who have recently undergone surgery, experienced a severe injury, or are managing complex health issues such as diabetes, heart disease, or respiratory disorders. Additionally, it may be right for those who need rehabilitation after a stroke or a debilitating illness, as well as those requiring specialized treatments like intravenous therapy or wound care. Older adults with deteriorating health or mobility limitations may benefit from skilled nursing services to receive comprehensive support and supervision tailored to their specific medical needs. Eligibility for skilled nursing care is determined based on the individual’s medical condition and the necessity for continuous monitoring and medical intervention. Contact us for a personalized assessment if you are not sure if skilled nursing is right for your loved one.
